The Final Fantasy 16 demo is out now on PS5, progressing to the full game

The highly anticipated demo for Final Fantasy XVI is out now on PS5, giving everyone a chance to play the game’s opening act unfold before its full release on June 22nd. Just to be clear, the exact launch time for the demo is 9AM BST / 10AM CEST / 1AM PT / 4AM ET on June 12th (today, at the time of writing this article).

You should be able to find the demo on the front page of the PlayStation Store, but if you don’t see it, you can go to Final Fantasy XVI’s page and select ‘Demo’ from the ‘…’ drop menu. .

The ‘playable prologue’ promises over two hours of gameplay, and your progress will do Until the full release. This means you can keep your story progress and any items or equipment you’ve picked up throughout the demo.

But that is not all. Upon completing the prologue, you’ll be able to access the ‘Special Battle Demo’, which unleashes the main character Clive with a bunch of iconic abilities. Basically, it gives you a taste of what the battle system becomes beyond the prologue. However, your progress in the battle-specific demo will not carry over to the full release.

All of this information was relayed via the official Final Fantasy XVI pre-launch event, which we were lucky enough to attend last night.
