The Last of Us TV series received 24 nominations at the Emmy Awards
After becoming a bigger hit than anyone expected, HBO’s TV adaptation of The Last of Us has been nominated for 24 Emmy Awards. With the ceremony taking place on 9 and 10 September 2023, the show itself as well as many of its leading actors are in the running to win big. Some of the categories nominated in The Last of Us are:
- Drama series
- Lead Actor in a Drama Series – Pedro Pascal (Joel)
- Lead Actress in a Drama Series – Bella Ramsay (Ellie)
- Excellent production design for a narrative contemporary program
- Excellent casting for a drama series
- Guest Actors in a Drama Series – Murray Bartlett (Frank), Lamar Johnson (Henry), Nick Offerman (Bill), Kevon Montreal Woodard (Sam)
- Guest Starring in a Drama Series – Melanie Lynskey (Kathleen), Storm Reid (Riley), Anna Torv (Tess)
- Excellent contemporary costume for a series
TV against the likes of Succession And white lotus, which received 27 and 23 nominations, respectively. What makes the nominations for The Last of Us even more noteworthy is that it marks the first time a live-action video game adaptation has been considered for major awards from the Hollywood institution. The Emmy Awards cover TV shows released between June 2022 and May 2023.
