The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’s Disappointing Reception Apologies to the Daedalic
You know you’re in a tight spot when you have to break out a Twitter statement. Developer Daedalic Entertainment has issued a formal apology to people who have been playing The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a game that has been very poorly received. In fact, it’s considered one of the worst games on the PS5.
While this is unfortunate news for the studio, it seems the team is holding their collective hands in this statement on social media:
“We would like to sincerely apologize for the difficult experience many of you had with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum upon its release,” it read. “We acknowledge and deeply regret that this game did not live up to the expectations we had for ourselves or our dedicated community. Please accept our sincere apologies for any disappointment this has caused.”
The statement thanks players for their feedback since release, and says the team is “actively listening to your voices, reading your comments, and analyzing constructive criticism”. Daedalic is working to fix the game’s bugs and other technical issues, and will release these fixes in upcoming patches. It ends by saying that it will keep players updated and provide updates on all changes.
We can’t gloss over it: The game is in rough shape, but we hope that Daedalic can iron out the most pressing issues and put The Lord of the Rings: Gollum in a better position. Are you playing this game? What are your thoughts on this so far? Let us know in the comments section below.
