The Metro Exodus sequel is reportedly deep in development, targeting a 2024 release

A sequel to 2019’s Metro Exodus is reportedly deep in development, even fully playable, and could be released as soon as 2024. It is accordingly Insider Gamingwhich suggest an official reveal will come later in the year.

Developer 4A Games has previously revealed the title’s presence, Writing in 2020 that “It’s no secret that we’ve already started work on the next Metro game. Using everything we’ve learned over the past 15 years, we’ve set our sights even higher – the next The title is being built for Gen 9 consoles and PC, with a complete overhaul of our engine and renderer to take advantage of the new power, storage, and hardware enabled ray tracing provided by the new consoles.”

Little is known about the game, outside of perhaps a dream sequence to begin with, but it’s pretty safe to assume that it will follow in the footsteps of the brilliant and epic Metro Exodus. Players will undoubtedly find themselves traipsing through the ruins of a post-nuclear war world, now battling over the shattered remnants of monstrous abominations and extremist groups.
