Indeed, the above update adds a new graphical mode to the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. Dubbed ‘Ray Tracing Overdrive’, this is “full” ray tracing, according to CDPR. This basically means that every light source can cast an accurate shadow, and every reflective surface can provide an accurate reflection. It results in some outstanding Ambient lighting, often to the point of photorealism.
In both open and closed spaces, this new mod looks amazing – assuming you’ve actually got a high-end rig to drive it.
The footage is hard to watch and No Think of it as the next big push in graphics, especially for open world titles like 2077, which rely on dynamic lighting and weather effects. The PS5 isn’t really capable of this kind of thing due to its internals, but it could be the kind of technology we see tied to the PS6. Or maybe the rumored PS5 Pro…? This would definitely be a good bullet point, but we won’t get your hopes up!
