There was a lot of buzz around potential Persona news before the showcase, but it turned out to be nothing. The wait continues to see Atlas’ next move, but these three questions in a row are just right.
Question 4: Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 get an October 2023 release date? (3,232 votes)
69% yes
31% no
Wrong!
Damn, the early winning streak ends here. This question ended up being a bit of a misnomer, as we all assumed that Spider-Man 2 would get a confirmed release date – but it didn’t. We’re still stuck with ‘Fall 2023’ until further notice, but at least the gameplay video was good.
Question 5: Will we see Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay? (3,243 votes)
30% yes
70% no
Right!
It’s no real surprise when you think about it. Obviously the emphasis is on Spider-Man 2 , but we wondered if Wolverine would at least get some kind of teaser, just to remind us that it’s in development. The gameplay, though? A step too far at this point.
Question 6: Will Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay be shown? (3,186 votes)
58% yes
42% no
Wrong!
You messed up here. With Mortal Kombat 1 being announced just before show day, it seemed like a logical prediction to be present. However, just hours after our quiz was published, it was confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will be at the Summer Game Fest instead. Dammit, Geoff!
Question 7: Will Neil Druckman appear? (3,144 votes)

Question 8: Will more than five minutes of gameplay from The Last of Us’ multiplayer project be shown? (3,128 votes)
45% yes
55% no
Right!
You got this one right, but just right. We tried to make this question more interesting because we were Convinced Factions will eventually reappear in this showcase – but shockingly, it’s nowhere to be found. The wait to actually see this multiplayer project continues, and it’s only getting more painful.
Question 9: Will the Final Fantasy XVI demo be released immediately after the showcase ends? (3,043 votes)

50% no
(No win by 1,537 votes to 1,512 votes)
Right!
It doesn’t get much closer than that! Only 25 votes prevented it from being another wrong answer. Death Stranding 2 didn’t appear at all during the showcase, so we’d say it’s pretty much a lock for next month’s Summer Game Fest.
Question 11: Will some sort of Sly Cooper game be announced? (3,001 votes)

Right!
Wow, you didn’t buy it at all — and your almost total cynicism paid off! Sly Cooper lurks in the shadows.

Question 21: Will a sequel to Monster Hunter World be announced? (2,529 votes)
30% yes
70% no
Right!
Sadly, we didn’t get a glimpse of the next Monster Hunter game at the PlayStation Showcase. There is no doubt that Capcom is working on a sequel to World, but we believe that it is too soon. A disappointingly correct answer.
Question 22: Will Dragon’s Dogma 2 appear in any capacity? (2,479 votes)
23% yes
77% no
Wrong!

Question 26: Will Aloy from Horizon Games talk at any point during the showcase? (2,497 votes)

Bait is refused again! We thought it was an oddly tempting prediction — Aloy could have appeared in a montage, or illustration — but she didn’t.
Question 27: Will a new PS5 model be teased and/or revealed? (2,593 votes)

Question 30: Will a Bloodborne remake / remaster be announced? (2,598 votes)
39% yes
61% no
Right!
Wow, we have to say, that wraps up an impressive run of correct answers. At this point, it feels like PlayStation can pay for community development anything Blood related and Sony still won’t do it.
Final Score: 21/30
This was a particularly big prediction quiz, so it’s pretty impressive that you managed to get so many questions right. What we learned today is that it pays to be cynical when it comes to the PlayStation Showcase. Hardly believe in anything, and you’ll be fine.
With any luck, we’ll see you soon for another PlayStation Showcase prediction quiz. Like, at the end of this year. But we won’t count on it.
