Question 3: Will a Persona game be announced? (3,206 votes)
There was a lot of buzz around potential Persona news before the showcase, but it turned out to be nothing. The wait continues to see Atlas’ next move, but these three questions in a row are just right.
Question 4: Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 get an October 2023 release date? (3,232 votes)
Damn, the early winning streak ends here. This question ended up being a bit of a misnomer, as we all assumed that Spider-Man 2 would get a confirmed release date – but it didn’t. We’re still stuck with ‘Fall 2023’ until further notice, but at least the gameplay video was good.
Question 5: Will we see Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay? (3,243 votes)
It’s no real surprise when you think about it. Obviously the emphasis is on Spider-Man 2 , but we wondered if Wolverine would at least get some kind of teaser, just to remind us that it’s in development. The gameplay, though? A step too far at this point.
Question 6: Will Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay be shown? (3,186 votes)
You messed up here. With Mortal Kombat 1 being announced just before show day, it seemed like a logical prediction to be present. However, just hours after our quiz was published, it was confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will be at the Summer Game Fest instead. Dammit, Geoff!
Question 7: Will Neil Druckman appear? (3,144 votes)
We can bet everything on Naughty Dog being at the PlayStation Showcase in some capacity, but the premiere PlayStation Studio with Neil Druckmann was completely missing.
Question 8: Will more than five minutes of gameplay from The Last of Us’ multiplayer project be shown? (3,128 votes)
You got this one right, but just right. We tried to make this question more interesting because we were Convinced Factions will eventually reappear in this showcase – but shockingly, it’s nowhere to be found. The wait to actually see this multiplayer project continues, and it’s only getting more painful.
Question 9: Will the Final Fantasy XVI demo be released immediately after the showcase ends? (3,043 votes)
No, turns out it was too early to release that anticipated Final Fantasy XVI demo. Don’t worry though, it can’t go away!
Question 10: Will Death Stranding 2 gameplay be shown? (3,049 votes)
(No win by 1,537 votes to 1,512 votes)
It doesn’t get much closer than that! Only 25 votes prevented it from being another wrong answer. Death Stranding 2 didn’t appear at all during the showcase, so we’d say it’s pretty much a lock for next month’s Summer Game Fest.
Question 11: Will some sort of Sly Cooper game be announced? (3,001 votes)
Wow, you didn’t buy it at all — and your almost total cynicism paid off! Sly Cooper lurks in the shadows.
Question 12: Will a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima be announced? (3,030 votes)
Pre-show chatter suggested that the ghost of Tsushima’s inevitable sequel wouldn’t grace us with its presence — and it didn’t. If you were banking on PlayStation Studio showing off Anything reallyYou were no doubt disappointed by the incident…
Question 13: Will Shuhei Yoshida appear? (2,863 votes)
You were having a blast with it. Jim Ryan was the only human to appear during the presentation, not counting the actors who appeared in the Gran Turismo movie trailer.
Question 14: Will Little Devil Inside get a release date? (2,817 votes)
No, we don’t know what’s going on with the Little Devil Inside. The game is missing what feels like an age, and it’s still out there in the wilderness, somewhere.
Question 15: Will a new Twisted Metal game be announced? (2,808 votes)
With the recent appearance of the Twisted Metal TV show, some sort of game-related announcement before the showcase certainly seemed possible. But no, Sweet Tooth and her car fight antics completely changed the course of events.
Question 16: Will there be any kind of update on PS Plus? (2,838 votes)
We thought there would be something Also on PS Plus during the showcase – maybe an indie game appeared with confirmation of coming to the subscription service in the near future – but nope, nothing.
Question 17: Will Rogue Legacy 2 be given a PlayStation release date? (2,640 votes)
The highly rated indie didn’t make any kind of appearance during the showcase, much to the dismay of Rogue Legacy superfan and Push Square editor Stephen Telby.
Question 18: Will more than ten PSVR2 games be featured? (2,749 votes)
no chance PSVR2 got a relatively small portion at the end of the showcase, and we didn’t get anything close to ten games, let alone more. There wasn’t even a montage!
Question 19: Will a PSVR2 spin-off game of a popular PlayStation franchise be announced? (2,683 votes)
You were so sure about it, but it didn’t happen. Sony’s own plans for the current-gen headset are shrouded in mystery.
Question 20: Will Granblue Fantasy: Relink get a release date? (2,505 votes)
O fool! You can’t believe in anything, can you? Well, Granblue Fantasy: Relink showed up, and – wait, what? It is only a Continue window? No release date? Well, sh*t. You win this round. Thanks for doing nothing, Cygames.
Question 21: Will a sequel to Monster Hunter World be announced? (2,529 votes)
Sadly, we didn’t get a glimpse of the next Monster Hunter game at the PlayStation Showcase. There is no doubt that Capcom is working on a sequel to World, but we believe that it is too soon. A disappointingly correct answer.
Question 22: Will Dragon’s Dogma 2 appear in any capacity? (2,479 votes)
Hey, we didn’t see that coming either. In fact, we expected Pragmata to appear in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but we got the latter – and it looks awesome. Even better, the arrival of a gameplay trailer means that the project is actually quite advanced. Capgod!
Question 23: Will Pragmata reappear? (2,467 votes)
We don’t know where Pragmata has disappeared to, and it certainly wasn’t hidden away at the PlayStation Showcase. It’s been a while since we’ve had any sort of update on it.
Question 24: Will a guest character be revealed for Tekken 8? (2,445 votes)
(Yes won by 1,219 votes against 1,226 votes)
Literally five of you have stepped it up for everyone. Tekken 8 didn’t even play a minor role in the showcase.
Question 25: Will Killzone be mentioned? (2,525 votes)
You refused to take the bait on this. We’re still waiting for some sort of Killzone revival, but it looks like it’s not happening anytime soon.
Question 26: Will Aloy from Horizon Games talk at any point during the showcase? (2,497 votes)
Bait is refused again! We thought it was an oddly tempting prediction — Aloy could have appeared in a montage, or illustration — but she didn’t.
Question 27: Will a new PS5 model be teased and/or revealed? (2,593 votes)
Hey, it’s turning into a strong end to the predictions. There was no mention of a new PS5 model, only official confirmation of Sony’s handheld streaming device, Project Q.
Question 28: Will there be any new unwanted projects? (2,554 votes)
Dan, you are on a roll! The idea that Uncharted could return in some form during the showcase made for a tantalizing prediction, but despite years of rumors saying there was a project in development, it has yet to materialize.
Question 29: Will a completely new PlayStation Studios IP be announced? (2,560 votes)
Yes, actually, we’ve got two: Fairgame$ and Concorde, two of Sony’s recently acquired studios. Feels like a monkey’s claw moment, doesn’t it?
Question 30: Will a Bloodborne remake / remaster be announced? (2,598 votes)
Wow, we have to say, that wraps up an impressive run of correct answers. At this point, it feels like PlayStation can pay for community development anything Blood related and Sony still won’t do it.
Final Score: 21/30
This was a particularly big prediction quiz, so it’s pretty impressive that you managed to get so many questions right. What we learned today is that it pays to be cynical when it comes to the PlayStation Showcase. Hardly believe in anything, and you’ll be fine.
With any luck, we’ll see you soon for another PlayStation Showcase prediction quiz. Like, at the end of this year. But we won’t count on it.
