Capcom has confirmed that there will be a second Street Fighter 6 closed beta test on PS5 starting the weekend of December 16, 2022. Anyone who participated in the first automatically qualifies for the second, and New players can apply here. Due to selling codes during the first beta, you will need to link a Capcom ID to your application this time. Redemption keys will be distributed in a lottery system instead of being distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
The same content will be available in the second closed beta as before, but this time you’ll be able to test a new feature to reduce input lag. “Turning on this option will reduce the gap between your inputs and the on-screen action,” Street Fighter website explains “This is especially useful if you’re using a monitor capable of displaying at 120Hz on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.”
And while you’ll have access to the same eight-character roster, some have been adjusted so they play a little differently. For example, Chun-Li has the number of frames it takes to change some of his moves while some of Ryu’s attacks are now strikes instead of projectiles.
Street Fighter 6 is still set to launch for PS5, PS4 at some point next year, but a firm release date has yet to be shared. Will you participate in this second closed beta test? Fist at the ready in the comments below.
