The story of the Splinter Cell remake is being rewritten and updated for modern-day audiences
The Splinter Cell Remake, which was officially announced last December (wow, it’s been a while!) is still a ways off, as Ubisoft Toronto tries to hire a scriptwriter for the project. has been But what’s interesting about this job listing is that the developer wants to rework the story of the original game.
The job description reads: “Using the first Splinter Cell game as our foundation we are rewriting and updating the story for a modern-day audience. Want to keep the spirit and themes of the game. They’re more authentic and believable.”
Now, since the original Splinter Cell was released for the PS2 in 2002, it’s understandable that Ubisoft would want to make some changes to its storytelling. After all, expectations have changed dramatically over the past two decades, and the remake has to modernize its direction and delivery.
