The trailer for HBO’s The Last of Us TV show is almost certainly dropping tomorrow

We’ve already seen a glimpse of HBO’s highly anticipated ‘The Last of You’ television show, but tomorrow could be a big day for long-term development adaptations. As current fans will already know, September 26th is the last of our days – or Outbreak Day as it was previously known – which marks the date of the Cordyceps virus outbreak in the franchise’s canon.

And series creator Neil Druckman and writer Craig Mazin are building the hype on social media. Naughty Dog’s vice president wrote, “Two days left until our last day Twitter Earlier in the weekend. “What will happen this year?” He included a sci-fi GIF of Marlene’s character, to which Mazin responded with a GIF of a shivering Ellie. Something is almost certainly going on.

The evidence mounts when you consider that HBO is currently running a brand campaign called 50 years of the first, which is designed to celebrate the broadcaster’s five decades of ground-breaking television. As part of that, it’s promising sneak peeks and first looks at some of its upcoming HBO Originals, of which The Last of Us is currently one of its flagships. It really doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together here, does it?

In other related news, an official Twitter account has been handled for the TV show @TheLastofUsHBO Just updated, and while there’s no content on it yet – well, you do understand that this comes in preparation for a big promotional push, don’t you? At this point, we assume it’s a certainty – but let’s wait and see what our last day tomorrow brings, shall we?
