Two Diablo 4 expansions are already in the works on Blizzard

Blizzard is pitching Diablo 4 as something you’ll still be playing years into the future if you get into it, and that will be thanks to a plethora of post-launch support. Along with the free content updates, the developer is currently producing two expansions, as confirmed by general manager Rod Ferguson.

In a new interview on Kinda funny XcastHe explained (via PC gamer): “As I sit here we’re about to launch the main game, we’re finishing season one, we’re working on season two, we’re working on an expansion, we’re on two Starting the expansion… We are working on it now [laughs] And we haven’t even launched the game.” Perhaps surprisingly, it’s been suggested that these two pieces of DLC could be released sooner than we thought. The live service model pushed Blizzard faster than what was possible in Diablo III. “Allows the material to flow out,” says Ferguson.

Diablo 4 is already an incredibly large, muscular experience with the base game containing several hours of content. Only live service access kicks into gear with seasons and then DLC on top, it could be your next Destiny 2 or Genshin Impact. Does this thought excite or frighten you?
