Upcoming PS5, PS4 games for April and May 2023
Spring is (just about) in the air and a number of games are set to launch on both PlayStation 5 and PS4, giving us plenty to sink our teeth into over the next few months.
As always, we’ve been busy rounding up some highlights for both systems (a reminder that Hogwarts Legacy launches this month on PS4 for those without PS5), as well as a huge selection of games that will be available over the next period. have been Two of the month. Hogwarts Legacy finally arrives on PS4 on April 4th after its early launch on PS5.
This “immersive, open-world” action RPG will let you experience Hogwarts in the 1800s and other realms of the magical world of Harry Potter. You’ll be traveling to familiar and new locations as you explore and discover magical beasts, customize your character and craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade your talents and more. You can choose between the PS5 copy (available now) or the PS4 copy (coming April 4th) below. There are other purchase options available.
A new game for Minecraft fans is headed our way very soon indeed, with Minecraft Legends launching on PS5 and PS4 on April 18th.
The game is an action-strategy title developed by Mojang Studios that will set you on a new quest to save the overworld from Ravenous Piglin’. You’ll need to plan your strategy and then face the Piglins in battle, taking their bases during the day and defending your allies after dusk. It promises “lush biomes full of treasures and dangers” – now it’s up to you to go and save the world.
Picking things up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor is set to “expand on the iconic Star Wars stories, worlds and characters” for current-gen consoles.
It launches on April 28 and will see protagonist Cal trying to stay one step ahead of the Empire’s relentless pursuit as he continues to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. If you love all things Star Wars, be sure to grab a pre-order below.
An exciting prospect for fans of the LEGO games, LEGO 2K Drive is an all-new open-world LEGO driving adventure where players can “race anywhere, play with anyone, build the rides of your dreams, and covet… Strange racing for people can defeat a cast of opponents. Sky Trophy!”
The game puts you behind the wheel of transforming vehicles that give you the freedom to speed seamlessly across racetracks, off-road terrain and open waters. There’s a story mode, single races and cup series tournaments, and even some mini-games to get stuck into. The game launches on May 19 and pre-orders are open now:
The next Lord of the Rings game will arrive on May 25, when Lord of the Rings: Gollum launches on PS5 and PS4.
Taking place parallel to the events described in The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game billed as “an epic interactive experience”. You play as Gollum himself, embarking on a perilous journey to discover how he has outwitted the most powerful characters in Middle-earth. Fans will discover Gollum’s own story for the first time, with a combination of action and stealth gameplay driving the narrative forward.
