What are you playing this weekend? – Issue 461
did you miss me?! It has been several weeks since I had the honor of hosting Wayp, but we’re still 461 issues deep, and we haven’t missed a week. Thanks for the appointment, Ramsey-sen. Shall we get on with it, then?
Sammy Barker, editor
I’ll probably play some gacha games on mobile this weekend, because I’ve become a proper badass.
Robert Ramsey, Deputy Editor
Now that the Forspoken review is done, I think it’s time to relax with some trails from Cold Steel II. The plan was to rerun the entire series before Trails in Reverie arrives in the summer, but the crazy 2023 release schedule is making that very difficult.
Stephen Telby, Associate Editor
Aside from the one game I’m playing for review, I’ll try to continue my playthrough of Dragon Quest XI S. To my surprise, I’m enjoying it a lot. Japanese RPGs don’t usually do anything for me, but this one is really hitting the spot right now.
Liam Croft, Assistant Editor
I suspect my PS5 will also turn on this weekend. I want to play Hi-Fi Rush On my Xbox Series X and then Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope On the Nintendo Switch.
Aaron Bain, video editor
This weekend, I’ll be taking on literally thousands of “Zex” locked and loaded in World War Z. It’s a pretty simple game, but I can’t stress enough the satisfaction of tackling a wave of manic zombies, especially now with the new Horde Mode XL on PS5.
Jamie O’Neill, reviewer
Considering that I loved Joemsher’s Blazing Chrome, and Sammy described Vengeful Guardians: Moonrider as “a white-knuckle mix” Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master SEGA Genesis and Mega Man X on the Super Nintendo”, I don’t know why it took me 16 days to buy the early 2023 gems. I’ve cured my laziness now.
Scott McCrae, reviewer
I won’t be at PlayStation this weekend. Panic! Outside of a review I’m currently working on, I have Tango Gameworks’ new game Hi-Fi Rush on my mind (a game that seems tailor-made for my tastes) as well as Goldeneye. 007 is occupied by trying as well to see what’s wrong. About all.
Simon Fitzgerald, reviewer
After finishing Ghostwire Tokyo this week, I’ll be switching things up this weekend by jumping into Life is Strange: True Colors. I’ve played Life is Strange and Before the Storm and really enjoyed both so I’m hoping this one will be more of the same.
It turns out that Ramsay isn’t the only editor who gets a big response to WAYP, as it’s another busy week for our regular feature. But what are you playing? As always, let us know in the comments section below.
