Game Status: What games will be shown or announced?
Sony has said that the upcoming State of play It will feature “reveals, new updates and fresh gameplay footage” for the 10 games coming to PS5, PS4, and PSVR2. These 10 titles can have many variations, considering that some will be for consoles, others for VR. What that will look like is unknown, but we can make some predictions.
The other clue given by Sony is that we’ll be seeing “updates from our awesome Japanese partners” as well as teams from other locations. Thinking about third-party publishers making games for the PS5, it’s possible we’ll see something new like Forspoken, Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter 6, or Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. There are many possibilities.
Sony doesn’t specifically mention first-party announcements or updates, so it’s unlikely we’ll see anything on God of War Ragnarok or anything more like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 . Maybe an indie game or two will be highlighted — maybe it’s time we got a release date for Little Devil Inside, for example.
