It seems that Venom voice actor Tony Todd doesn’t care much for the NDA he undoubtedly signed. Writing on Twitter, the star has effectively confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is planned for release on PS5 in September, with a massive advertising campaign planned for the past month. “Your… and hold on [your] Sigh,” he said. “It will be necessary!”

Obviously, this is not particularly mind-blowing information. The original Marvel’s Spider-Man enjoyed a very successful launch in September, and developer Insomniac has already confirmed that the title is on track for a 2023 release. Todd could potentially get in trouble for this tweet, but he’s not exactly exposing anything we couldn’t already guess.

Of course, just because a September release date is planned internally, doesn’t mean the game will hit it – there are plenty of things that could still change. But it looks like Sony has a month in mind, and we respect Todd for making that information public when he surely would have signed a contract instructing him not to!

Another thing to note here is that Sony’s improved PS5 hardware model, with a fixed detachable disc drive, is also scheduled for release in September. That means the company could be planning an absolutely massive month for its newest console, as there’s no doubt that Spider-Man is going to seriously drive sales this holiday.
