We’ve all been waiting for our next glimpse of Final Fantasy XVI, and many thought the highly anticipated action RPG would make an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 – but unfortunately that’s looking less and less likely. The Tokyo-based event isn’t over yet — it runs all weekend — but the blockbuster trailer inclination To be released sometime in the first two days.
But hey, at least we got some new artwork! As snapped by Roger J On Chinese blogging site Weibo, the cute-looking image shows protagonist Clive sitting with supporting characters Joshua and Jill. It was drawn by the very talented Final Fantasy XIV artist Yosuke Mogi, and the Japanese text below translates to “This is the story of breaking free from the blessings of the crystal.”
The art also reiterates that Final Fantasy XVI is set for a summer 2023 release, so nothing has changed on that front.
We’d imagine Square Enix will release a full resolution version of the art soon, so get your desktop wallpaper settings ready.
Again, there is There’s still time to produce a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI, but right now we’re not getting our hopes up. It’s also worth noting that Square Enix doesn’t have the game for its own panel or presentation this weekend – and it’s the same story for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
