He released a statement from Loretta’s official Twitter account. Loretta’s children tweeted, “Our precious mother, Loretta Lynn, passed away this morning, October 4th, at her beloved farmhouse in Hurricane Mills. Passed away peacefully in her sleep.”

The family also called in the statement to preserve their privacy and not to disturb them. The statement read: “The family asks you to maintain your privacy. He remains in mourning. A public announcement for the memorial will be made later.” Loretta Lynn’s father worked in a coal mine. He had made his own identity in Hollywood.
