Google removed 50 apps with dangerous virus from Play Store, downloaded 3 lakh times

Google constantly checks for dangerous apps and keeps removing them. In the meantime, a case of this type has again come to light, in which a virus was found in some applications of Google Play Store. Zscaler has alerted Android users to 50 Google Play Store apps that are affected by the popular Joker malware. However, reports have been received that 50 apps affected by Joker malware have been removed from the Google Play Store. According to the Zscaler ThreatLabz team, Joker, Facestealer, and Cooper malware were recently discovered to spread through app families.

These harmful apps were immediately removed from Google Playstore after ThreatLabz team immediately informed Google Android Security team. Joker is a popular malware family. With the help of this malware, hackers can intercept passwords and one-time security codes and read your notifications.

Not only that, they can secretly take screenshots, send and read text messages, and even make calls. This malware is capable of doing almost everything on your device.

These apps have been downloaded a total of 3,00,000 times, most of which fall under the categories of communication, health, personalization, photography, and tools. Over the past two months, researchers from ThreatLabz discovered that these Google Play Store apps were affected by the Joker malware.
