Airtel 5G service in India: Bharti Airtel will launch 5G service in India this month. Additionally, Airtel claimed to introduce 5G service nationwide by March 2024. Announcing the announcement, Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal said, “We are planning to launch 5G in August and expect roll out nationwide very soon after.” Gopal Vittal said that the price of telecommunication service in the country is very low and there is a need to increase it. It looks like Airtel’s service can be expensive. Apart from this, State Minister for Telecommunications Devusinh Chauhan also talked about the launch of 5G service in a month.
Airtel has partnered with companies
Also last week, Airtel announced the launch of 5G service in August. Airtel had said it had partnered with Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung for 5G service in India. Vittal said on Airtel’s earnings call, “We are planning a rollout of 5G in around 5,000 cities in India. This will be the biggest rollout in Airtel’s history to date.”
5G will start in August
State Telecom Minister Devusinh Chouhan also expressed hope to start 5G service in many parts of the country within a month. State Minister Devusinh Chouhan further said that get ready for high-speed internet, by next month there will be full preparation to start 5G service in the country.
What is Airtel’s share of the 5G spectrum?
A total of Rs 1,50,173 crore of spectrum has been offered for 5G in the country, in which Bharti Airtel won the 19867Mhz spectrum and Vodafone-Idea won the 6228Mhz spectrum. Apart from this, Reliance Jio alone bought spectrum worth 88,078 crores. Jio bought as much spectrum as possible. Jio captured over 50% of the spectrum.
