BJP MP for Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, Varun Gandhi raised questions about the central government by tweeting on Tuesday raising the issue of pollution of the Ganges. He asked why the Ganga River is so polluted despite spending Rs 11,000 crore under the Namami Ganga project? He asked who is responsible for this?

Varun Gandhi wrote on the tweet- ‘Ganga is not just a river to us it is ‘mother’. Mother Ganga is the basis of the life, religion and existence of millions of compatriots. Hence, a budget of Rs 20,000 crore was made on Namami Gange. Why the pollution in the river despite spending Rs 11,000 crore so far? Along with this tweet, Varun Gandhi shared a video in which a large number of dead fish are seen on the banks of the river. Varun Gandhi asked ‘Ganga is a giver of life, so why do fish die from dirty water? Whose responsibility is it?

It should be noted that earlier Varun Gandhi had tweeted questioning the construction and quality of the Bundelkhand highway. Varun Gandhi tweeted the video of the road collapse near Chiriya Salempur and wrote, “If the highway built at the cost of Rs 5,000 crores cannot withstand even 5 days of rain, then serious questions arise about its quality. The person in charge of this project, the engineers concerned and the companies responsible must be summoned immediately and strict sanctions will be taken against them.

Varun Gandhi must have raised his voice against his own government and its policies for a long time. Whether it is the question of the farmers’ movement or the Agniveer project, Varun Gandhi has turned against his own government.
