Two people were killed and five were injured in a shooting at Virginia’s high school graduation ceremony. Police also took two people into custody. The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday night at Monroe Park in the Richmond, Virginia area.
According to the Reuters news agency, shortly before the shooting, a high school graduation ceremony was held at the Altria Theater across from the park. This park is on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Those killed in the shooting had come to watch the ceremony. These include an 18-year-old and a 35-year-old man.

Richmond Public School official Matthew Stanley said another school’s graduation ceremony was scheduled to take place in the evening, but was canceled after the incident. It is said that there was a schedule of graduation ceremonies from 3 schools at the Altria Theater on Tuesday.
