Washington: The United States Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling in favor of women on Friday. The court refused to ban “mifepristone”, a widely used abortion pill. In 2000, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of mifepristone. As per the rule, this drug is intended to terminate pregnancies up to seven weeks in the United States. It can only be delivered directly to users in clinics, medical practices and hospitals.

They argued the agency used an illegal process to approve the drug, which they considered unsafe.
