An agreement has been reached between Russia and the head of the Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has reached an agreement between the two.
According to the agreement, Prigozhin will leave Russia and go to Belarus.

Moscow: In Russia, the possibility of a coup and civil war had increased after the rebellion of Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of the private army Wagner Group. Russian President Vladimir Putin has also gone to great lengths to reduce these possibilities. However, despite these efforts, an atmosphere of anarchy settles in the country. But now the situation is changing. Prigozhin will visit Belarus as part of the agreement between the Russian government and Prigozhin by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

According to Al Jazeera’s report, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday that “Lukashenko offered mediation with the consent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he has personally known Prigozhin for almost 20 years.” It indicates that Prigozhin said he ordered his army, which was heading towards Moscow to avoid bloodshed, to return to its bases.

All charges against Wagner Chief dropped
At the same time, Russia also accepted the deal. According to the New York Times report, a Kremlin spokesman said on Saturday that Yevgeny Prigozhin had decided to halt his army’s march on Moscow under an agreement brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. This is why all charges against Chief Wagner at the head of the armed forces are withdrawn.

Putin thanked Lukashenko
Dmitry Peskov further said that Prigozhin will go to Belarus, and the fighters accompanying him will not be prosecuted by law because of their “service at the front”. This came to the fore when the Belarusian president said he was negotiating a deal with Prigozhin to “reduce tensions”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus wrote on Twitter: “Tonight at 9 p.m. the presidents again spoke by phone. President of Belarus Lukashenko informed the President of Russia about the results of the conversation with the head of the Wagner group President Putin thanked his counterpart for the work accomplished.
