According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at a campground near the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington. The suspected shooter fled the scene, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Kyle Foreman. The foreman said the suspect opened fire on the crowd as they fled. Foreman said the George Amphitheater at the time hosted a two-day music festival called Beyond Wonderland, and the campground was located several hundred yards from the site. The campsite said in a tweet on Saturday evening: ‘Please avoid the George Gate H campsite area as it is controlled by local authorities and closed due to an incident.’ There is no threat to the festival or the campgrounds.

On Sunday morning, the festival announced the cancellation of the day’s performances.
