Ferocious Russian attack on Ukraine, firing of 30 missiles, air raid sirens, blackout in the country

15 cruise missiles were shot down
Sherhi Popko, head of Kyiv city administration, said 15 cruise missiles were shot down. Popko said the missiles were fired “in the direction of Kyiv”, but did not specify whether the capital was targeted. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said explosions were heard in Kyiv’s Dnieprovsky district. These attacks came at a time when Germany and the United States announced on Wednesday that they would send advanced battle tanks to Ukraine.
