proposed to his bride-to-be with an Escher-cut diamond solitaire in New York
Murdoch’s future wife, Smith, told the newspaper she had been a widow for 14 years

Washington, Media mogul and owner of Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, will soon be married for the fifth time at the age of 92. Murdoch got engaged to girlfriend Ann Leslie Smith on Friday, just seven months after reaching a divorce agreement with his ex-wife, Jerry Hall.

The New York Post reported that the News Corp chairman offered his bride-to-be an Asscher-cut diamond solitaire on March 17 in New York City. The New York Post quoted Murdoch as saying, “I was very nervous. I was afraid to fall in love – but I knew it would be my last. It would be better. I am happy.’

Ann Leslie Smith, 66, served as a chaplain with the San Francisco Police Department. Her late husband Chester Smith was a singer, radio and television director. Smith told the newspaper that she had been a widow for 14 years. Like Rupert, her husband was also a businessman. He worked for local newspapers, helped promote radio and television stations and Univision. He added that getting closer to 70 means being in the final half. He waited for the right moment. Friends are happy for them.

Reports claimed the couple met in September and made their relationship official over Christmas. They were spotted together on vacation and were also believed to have been hosted by British billionaire and JCB chairman Anthony Bamford. Let us tell you that this will be Murdoch’s fifth marriage and he was previously married to Jerry Hall, Wendy Murdoch, Anna Murdoch Mann and Patricia Booker.
