The Indian government has asked for clarification on the protests by Khalistan supporters.

New Delhi: India summoned Canada’s High Commissioner on Saturday to express concern over the recent actions of Khalistan supporters and extremists in the country. The External Affairs Ministry said in a statement on Sunday: “The Government of India has demanded an explanation as to how these elements were allowed to breach the security of our diplomatic missions and consulates in the presence of the police.”

Sources told News84Media that the government has demanded an explanation from Canada about how these elements were allowed to breach the security of diplomatic missions and consulates in Canada in the presence of police. “The Government of Canada has been reminded of its obligations under the Vienna Convention and called upon to arrest and prosecute individuals who have already been identified as engaging in such acts,” the statement said. According to reports, hundreds of protesters demonstrated with Khalistan flags outside the Indian consulate in Vancouver, Canada.
