Olympic gymnastics champion Alina Kabaeva, 39 – longtime fiancee to the 70-year-old Russian leader – lives in a villa on Putin’s estate by Lake Valdai. According to a report by the Russian investigative news site “The Project”, it is located about 400 km northwest of Moscow.

The Russian president bought his girlfriend a 120 million dollar (113.5 million euro) real estate empire in Cyprus via a slush fund, reports the site. According to The Project, construction of the Kabaeva mansion began in 2020 and was completed two years later in 2022.

Spread over 13,000 square feet, the mansion is built entirely of wood in the style of a Russian dacha. The mansion was built by a company owned by Russian businessman Yuri Kovalchuk, also known as “Putin’s banker”. Among its many expensive features, Kabaeva Mansion is also claimed to have a gem-studded chandelier.

Anonymous officials told the project they had seen children in the compound, and satellite photos taken between 2016 and 2020 showed a playground in the woods believed to have been built for the family.

The house where Alina Kabaeva lives is said to be located just 800 meters from Valdai, Vladimir Putin’s most secure and private residence, where he almost never holds public meetings.
