According to the Washington Post report, on Saturday, the health of a small plane pilot suddenly deteriorated. After that, a passenger from the plane started piloting the flight. The incident happened Saturday afternoon near Martha’s Vineyard Airport in West Tisbury, Massachusetts. Massachusetts State Police said the 79-year-old pilot’s condition worsened when the plane landed. The Post quoted state police as saying, “During the crash, the plane made a hard landing off the runway. Due to which the left wing of the plane broke in half. However, officials did not name any of the people on the plane and said both were taken to hospital. After that, the pilot was rushed to hospital in Boston.

Suddenly the pilot’s health deteriorated
The Post quoted police as saying the passenger suffered no injuries and was discharged from a local hospital. Let us tell you, the 2006 Piper Meridian plane of the year departed from Westchester County, New York on Saturday afternoon. Police said the pilot and passenger were residents of Connecticut. State police, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash. An FAA spokesperson said the NTSB is leading the investigation.

The Post quoted state police as saying the plane was removed and taken to a safe location at the airport and the crash site cleared. A similar accident occurred about 24 years earlier when a Piper accident killed John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessett, and his sister Lauren Bessett near Martha’s Vineyard.
