Kyiv. Images of devastation between the war between Russia and Ukraine continually come to the fore. At least six people have been killed in Russian missile attacks on residential buildings in the Ukrainian town of Kryvyi Rih, while many more are feared trapped under rubble. Kryvyi is the birthplace of Rieh Zelensky. Dipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lesak said in a post on social media platform Telegram that the five-storey residential building was attacked early on Tuesday and a fire broke out in the area.

At the beginning of this attack, it became known that 3 people were dead, later the mayor of Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Sirski, said on the social media platform that the death toll had risen to six. Seven people are feared to be buried under the rubble. Authorities initially said about 24 people were injured. It was the latest bloodshed of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky shared some photos on social media platform Telegram in which firefighters are seen trying to put out the blaze.

Zelensky said that Russia is waging a war against the people
Zelensky wrote: “No more terrorist missiles. Russian killers continue their war against residential buildings, cities and ordinary people. The country’s ground troop commander said Tuesday morning that Ukrainian forces were advancing outside Bakhmut. Oleksandr Sirsky said in a Telegram post that Russian forces were losing influence. Moscow had captured the town of Bakhmut last month.

Attacked by Iranian-made Shaheed drones
Local Governor Olehiy Sinihubov said in a telegram that Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, had been attacked by Iranian-made drones and surrounding areas had been shelled. He said two civilians were injured in the shelling of the town of Shevshonkov, southeast of Kharkiv. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported Tuesday morning that the drone attack damaged a warehouse and a business center in the northeast of the city.

Russian Army Retreat Claim
Earlier, Ukrainian military officials said on Monday that their troops had recaptured another village in the southeastern region from Russian forces. Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar wrote in a telegram that the Ukrainian flag was once again flying over the village of Storozov. He said Ukrainian forces regained control of seven villages in a 90 square kilometer area in eastern Ukraine last week. He insisted that eventually all the lands of Ukraine would be liberated.

The influence of Russia has diminished in these villages
A day earlier, Ukrainian officials said three small villages south of the town of Velika Novosilke in the eastern Donetsk region had been liberated from Russian forces. The Russian Defense Ministry has not confirmed the withdrawal of its troops from these villages, but some military bloggers have acknowledged that these villages are no longer under Russian control.
