Putin’s address to the country, said – Those who stab in the back will be punished

Moscow: President Vladimir Putin has addressed the nation amid a private army Wagner Group coup attempt in Russia. Putin said the actions of Wagnerian leader Yevgeny Prigozhin amounted to treason. In his address, he said “it’s a betrayal”. Russia will defend and retaliate against this hostile move. Putin addressed Russia in the morning, hours after Major Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin and his forces captured parts of the Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh.

Putin said those who rebelled against the Russian army and the Russian people would be punished for the rebellion. Putin looked very angry during his speech. He further stated, “Anyone who has deliberately walked the path of betrayal will face inevitable punishment. The army received the right orders.

The Russian President further stated that “we will defend our country and our people against any threat, including internal betrayal.” And what we face now is betrayal. Tension has been mounting in the Kremlin since the Battle of Bakhmut in Ukraine. Prigozhin, the leader of Wagner’s group, alleged that he was not sufficiently supported by the Russian army.

Putin said in his address to the country that “our action will be tough.” Chief Wagner betrayed Russia out of personal ambition. Wagner’s rebellion is a deadly threat to Russia. The Russian president asked Russians to stay united. He said “we will not allow a civil war to occur”. Putin also momentarily praised Wagner for helping to “free” Solder and Bakhmut, adding that “the heroes who freed Bakhmut, fought for Novorossiya, their name and glory will be passed on to these people.” Betrayed by those who try to organize the rebellion.

On Saturday morning, Wagner’s chief issued threats and warnings to the Russian Defense Ministry, accusing it of attacking Wagner’s paramilitary forces. He said Wagner shot down a helicopter which attacked Wagner’s forces.
