The US State Department has approved the potential sale of long-range missiles, rockets and launchers to Poland as part of a deal worth up to $10 billion, the Pentagon announced on Tuesday. The Reuters news agency gave this information. In fact, since Russia’s attack on neighboring Ukraine, Poland has been increasing its security capacity and strengthening its military cooperation with the United States.

Potential sales include High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), which Kyiv has praised for battlefield successes such as destroying Russian warehouses and command posts. Defense deal includes 18 HIMARS launchers, 45 Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles with a range of 185 miles (297 km) and more than 1,559 Guided Multiple Launch System (GMLRS) rockets .

The US has rejected Ukraine’s requests for ATACMS missiles and Poland will not be allowed to send weapons to Ukraine without US approval. The Pentagon’s Security and Defense Cooperation Agency informed the US Congress on Tuesday of the possible sale.
