Taking strong action against the alleged “arbitrary measures” of Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform Twitter, the head of the European Parliament has summoned him for a hearing before the European Parliament. His spokesman said parliament speaker Roberta Metsola sent a letter to the billionaire asking him to appear before the European Parliament. However, the European Parliament does not have the power to compel Elon Musk to appear. Elon Musk’s reaction to this could not be known immediately.
According to a report from the AFP news agency, Elon Musk, boss of electric car company Tesla, has brought a period of turmoil and controversy since buying Twitter for $44 billion in October.
