Washington, In America, a snake cut off the electricity to 16,000 homes (Electricity Shutdown in the United States). The incident broke out in the US city of Austin when a snake slithered into a substation and came into contact with equipment. Fox News reported that the outage began at 1 a.m. on May 16, affecting about 16,000 customers. The incident happened when a snake entered a substation and came into contact with an electrified circuit, causing a power outage.

Meanwhile, Austin Energy said in its tweet that wildlife interference can cause a power outage. Today a snake crept into one of our substations and came into contact with an electrified circuit which interrupted the flow of electricity. Power was then restored to all affected customers at 2 p.m.

Austin Energy spokesman Matt Mitchell said the company is installing low-voltage electric fences around substations to keep crawling reptiles out. Let us tell you that in a similar incident last year, about 10,000 homes in Japan lost power when a snake fell into an electrical substation.
