The White House said it was working with Chinese officials to arrange a meeting between Biden and Jinping on the sidelines of next week’s G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, according to the AP. But the two parties have not yet confirmed whether the meeting will take place or not. Biden told the media at a White House press conference that he had a lot to discuss with Jinping. Because US-China relations have soured in recent months.

It should be noted that recently, China has strongly criticized the attitude of the Biden administration towards Taiwan. The Chinese president also suggested that Washington seeks to rein in Beijing’s growing influence as it tries to overtake the United States as the world’s largest economy. Tensions between the two countries over Taiwan have risen significantly since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan in August.
