Kyiv: The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than six months. The situation still remains critical. The two countries are not ready to bow down. Meanwhile, Russia opened fire on the Ukrainian port city of Mykolaiv and the country’s second-largest city, Kharkiv, on Sunday. Mikolav Mayor Oleksandr Senkovic said on Sunday that the town and its surroundings had been targeted for several weeks during the war.

Governor Vitaliy Kim said a child was killed and five others injured in a rocket attack in the area on Saturday. Senkovic did not say whether there were any casualties in the night’s attack.

Meanwhile, the region’s emergency service said Russian shelling in Kharkiv had set fire to a large wooden restaurant complex. Governor Oleh Sinihubov said one person was killed and two others injured in the shelling. Governor of the eastern Donetsk region, Pavlo Kirilenko, said four people were killed in Saturday’s shelling.

The head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog said on Saturday that the last external power line to Russia’s Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in Ukraine had been cut, but electricity is running through a reserve line amid bombardment continued in the region.
