Paris. It is the job of the police to obey the traffic rules. But if the police of a country shoots the person who does not obey the traffic rules, it will be a matter of surprise and shock in itself. In fact, such a case was reported in Paris, the capital of France. Where a teenager is shot dead for breaking traffic rules, due to which he died. Since this incident, questions have been raised about the action of the police forces and their working methods. However, the police are presenting arguments to defend themselves in this case.

According to the AFP news agency, French police were investigating traffic outside Paris on Tuesday. During this, a 17-year-old boy, who was trying to escape from the investigation, was shot dead by the police for driving a vehicle.

The teenager is said to have been driving a rental car in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris, in the early hours of Tuesday. The police arrested him for violating several traffic rules. But he tried to flee during a police check. The car had only traveled a few meters when the police opened fire on her, killing her.

A video has gone viral on social media in which two police officers attempt to stop the vehicle. One of the officers points a gun at the driver of the car through the window and shoots him as he drives. The car drove a few meters before crashing. According to the report, at the time this incident occurred, two other people were also traveling in the vehicle. One of them fled and the other was a minor who was taken into custody.

The mayor of Nanterre, Patrick Jéry, said he was shocked by the images broadcast on social networks. He also expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the victim. His office said it hoped the investigation had been opened and the facts of the case would soon come to light.

Kishore’s neighbor Samia Boff, 62, who had come to lay a bouquet of yellow roses at the scene, said it was very sad he was too young.

It is said that in 2022, a record 13 deaths were recorded in incidents of refusing to stop for traffic control. Five police officers were also implicated in these cases.

However, officials and police unions attributed the 2022 figures to more dangerous driving behavior. But the researchers point to a 2017 law revising the conditions for the use of weapons by the police.

Recall that about two weeks ago, in a town west of Angoulême, a 19-year-old was killed by a police officer, injured in the legs by his car.

Expressing strong displeasure, the left said police would not shoot people just for refusing to stop. The police have no right to shoot people like that. Manuel Bompard, coordinator of the far-left La France Insoumise (LFI) party, tweeted that yes, refusing to quit is against the law. But death is not part of the penalties provided for in the Penal Code.

Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure said refusing to stop does not give the right to kill. Emergency services attempted to revive the teenager at the scene but he died a short time later.

According to the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, the police officer accused of having shot the driver was placed in police custody for murder.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin told parliament the two officers were being questioned and admitted the images posted on social media were “extremely shocking”.
