Ukraine’s president describes Putin as a ‘person’ who only lives in an ‘information bubble’
Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is no longer “interested” in meeting Vladimir Putin for peace talks after 11 months of war between Ukraine and Russia. In an interview with Sky News, Zelensky addressed speculation of a Russian invasion of Ukraine in the coming weeks and described how he felt when he realized the invasion was starting last year. The Ukrainian president described Putin as a “person” who only lives in an “information bubble”. He said Putin doesn’t really know what is happening on the battlefield.
He said he doesn’t understand who makes the decisions in Russia. Every time Moscow asks for peace, it also attacks Ukraine with missiles at night. Zelensky said he didn’t want talks. He said Putin didn’t want peace, so he didn’t even mean a peace deal. Zelensky thinks Russia is waging a big war. Right now the whole world is helping Ukraine, so they are waiting for the day when all countries will be tired.
During this time, Zelensky talked not only about the war, but also about his family, and especially his 10-year-old son. He said he rarely saw his wife and children, but when he did they ate together and talked about the war. After Germany and America offered to donate tanks, he also thanked the two countries. Suffice to say that Washington had announced that it would send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. US President Joe Biden said armor capability is important for Ukraine and that the US will train Ukrainian troops as soon as possible.
